Ballets Russes, Assouline

During my tenure at Assouline, I edited, managed, and (at times) ghostwrote books on art, architecture, design, and luxury lifestyle. In addition to the books themselves, I also worked on the marketing of them—writing their descriptions for Assouline’s catalog, e-commerce, and social channels.

On Ballet Russes, a limited-edition tome with a print run of 900, I assisted senior editor Nadine Rubin Nathan with research, crafting captions, and editing the text of author André Tubeuf.

Possibly the most influential ballet company of the 20th century, the Ballets Russes was founded in 1909 by impresario Sergei Diaghilev. While only in operation for twenty years, the Ballets Russes is known for developing some of the most famous and influential dancers and choreographers of the 20th century—and for making ballet modern.
